Job Description:

Our client is looking for a Senior Database Administrator to be a technical leader responsible for architecting, implementing, and managing complex cloud and on-premise databases. Expertise in ExaCC (OCI), Oracle, AWS (PostgreSQL, MySQL, RDS, Aurora), and MSSQL is required. The role leads security, high availability, disaster recovery, and performance optimization efforts, while mentoring staff and collaborating with engineering, security, and operations. Strong ownership is essential to balance strategic projects and daily operations in alignment with organizational goals.

Your Responsibilities:

• Architect and administer enterprise databases across OCI, AWS, and hybrid environments.
• Drive implementation and optimization of Oracle ExaCC and GoldenGate replication.
• Design and support active-active and global architectures, including Aurora Global and Oracle RAC.
• Partner with Enterprise Security to define and enforce database security standards.
• Establish and uphold RTO/RPO requirements across all platforms.
• Manage patching, upgrades, and performance tuning for Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MSSQL, QLIK, and related systems.
• Collaborate with cloud, development, and infrastructure teams to deliver scalable, secure solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance on database decisions for strategic initiatives.
• Lead root cause analysis and resolution of complex incidents.
• Mentor and coach junior and mid-level DBAs.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal governance requirements.
• Conduct capacity planning, forecasting, and synthetic testing to assure performance.
• Support integration of QLIK and other analytics platforms with enterprise databases.
• Own database operations and lead cross-functional projects from planning to delivery.
• Manage in-memory datastores such as Redis and ElastiCache.

Required Experience:

• Bachelor's in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• 10+ years in database administration with 5+ in cloud environments.
• Certifications in Oracle, AWS, or PostgreSQL preferred.
• Expertise in Oracle ExaCC, Oracle RAC, and GoldenGate.
• Extensive hands-on experience with MSSQL, PostgreSQL, and MySQL in production.
• Strong knowledge of AWS RDS, Aurora Global Database, and cloud-native database platforms.
• Skilled in designing and managing high-availability and active-active architectures.
• Proficient in database security, encryption, auditing, and access controls.
• Advanced scripting and automation abilities using SQL, PL/SQL, Bash, and Python.
• Effective communicator and leader with proven cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Self-starter capable of driving complex initiatives with minimal oversight.
• Track record of successfully balancing strategic projects with operational demands.
