Akkodis is seeking a Database Administrator for a Contract job with a client in Sunnyvale, CA (Hybrid). Responsibilities include upgrading and installing MongoDB across multiple shards, managing backups, restores, and replication, and analyzing slow queries for optimization.
Rate Range: $37/hour to $49/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Database Administrator job responsibilities include:
- Managing and maintaining MongoDB sharded clusters, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Upgrading and installing MongoDB across multiple shards, including handling backups, restores, and replication.
- Analyzing slow MongoDB queries and providing optimization suggestions to improve performance.
- Monitoring resource usage in the cluster using appropriate tools to ensure efficient operation.
- Managing cluster scaling and ensuring high availability without using ops manager.
- Writing and executing basic shell scripts to automate tasks and improve efficiency.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a MongoDB DBA, with extensive experience in managing sharded clusters.
- Proficiency in managing MongoDB clusters without the use of Ops Manager, including tasks like backups, restores, and replication.
- Strong knowledge of MongoDB queries for performance analysis and optimization, along with the ability to monitor resource usage in the cluster.
