Job Details

Great opportunity with this international organization responsible for managing one of the world s largest supply and logistics pipelines! This is a key role in managing the development and enhancement of their industry leading software solutions for global commerce.

Provide input into product roadmaps, as well as guidance and direction to development teams while collaborating with other teams globally to plan and deliver state of the art solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and motivates the team, setting individual and group goals, expectations.
  • Ensure clarity around priorities and timelines and set expectation with other departments and stakeholders and ensure adherence to Capacity Planning
  • Sets expectations with stakeholders and Products organization and manages Capacity Planning.
  • Ensure daily activities are aligned with strategic goals.
  • Coach, mentor and develop staff to achieve departmental objectives, which assists in the company’s growth and the employee’s career development.
  • Provide timely feedback on performance through informal and formal review discussions.
  • Help automate the release process and integration process. They have just implemented a new version control tool to help with CI, and still require some manual integrations.
  • Assist with developing and implementing the overall strategic plan and with department budget, and develops budget recommendations and proposals..
  • Apply agile methodologies in managing high performant, productive teams
  • Manage project/product activities including design, implementation, and maintenance of multiple product modules/sub-systems.
  • Develop and implement procedures and controls to guide developmental activities of various projects that support the Strategic Business Unit.
  • Identify resource requirements for development activities, and manage multiple concurrent related activities.  
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Technology teams and other departments when working to achieve goals on a specific product line.
  • Maintain accountability for teams’ problem verification and resolution, release testing, and support for assigned products.
  • Participate in and leads global team meetings to set expectations, review timeline and goals, and delegate project responsibility.
  • Remove barriers for team members on a proactive basis, and research and resolve roadblocks that may arise during development activities.

BACKGROUND

  • Demonstrated progressively responsible experience in a software development environment managing application development projects.
  • Proven ability to lead diverse teams and create an engaging and positive culture that motivates and inspires others to do great work, and leads to successful project completions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to establish collaborative working relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge on:
    • A variety of different technology stacks and tools, such as Net, Azure, JavaScript, Gerkin, and BDD framework
    • Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
    • Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)
    • DevOps
    • Understanding and experience with establishing and managing Capacity Planning.
  • Solid project management skills, with the ability to effectively suspend and resume activities as priorities shift.
  • Excellent understanding of all phases of the application SDLC.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced global environment, manage through ambiguity and complexity, and support multiple, simultaneous projects.
