Job Summary: The Engineering Specialist II will support the Engineering Standards team by providing guidance and support to develop, collect, maintain, and distribute documents defining engineering design standards and engineering processes that ensure efficient knowledge sharing with the engineering department.

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain a comprehensive electronic filing system and database for all engineering documents to be retained in the document control center location.

Manage access to the document control center to ensure that all users have the latest revision of appropriate documentation.

Maintain version control of documents, releases revisions, obsoleting, and archiving changes.

Alert engineering team members on new documents or new document versions.

Format documents and reports written by other personnel for accuracy and template standardization.

Establish and maintain record retention timelines.

Work with engineering teams to implement improvements in documents.

Collaborate with other departments associated with engineering on standardization of engineering documents.

Develop robust training of the new engineering employees during onboarding on the engineering standards and processes.

Develop knowledge sharing electronic board where engineers can post questions and share answers.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

Proficient in MS Office and experience using SharePoint.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Associates degree

Experience:

5 years Electronic Document Control experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Education

Bachelor's degree

Experience

Experience creating SharePoint information architecture including use of content types, metadata, and web part configuration.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
