Salary: $130,000.00 USD Annually - $170,000.00 USD Annually
Description: Our client is currently seeking a Lead AP, Software Engineer, Streaming

Location: Hybrid in Dallas, TX or Chicago, IL (3 days/week in office)

Contract or Perm: Full-Time Permanent role

What You'll Do

As a Senior Cloud Solutions Architect, you will play a critical role in designing and developing scalable, resilient hybrid cloud-based solutions that support financial risk management activities. You will mentor developers, collaborate with architects and product owners, and drive the strategy to transform the enterprise into a data-driven organization. This role requires innovative thinking and leadership in building advanced data solutions.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and actively participate in requirement analysis and reviews to identify gaps or incomplete requirements.
  • Validate assumptions in models and ensure accuracy.
  • Design highly performant, scalable, secure, reliable, and cost-optimized solutions.
  • Develop streaming applications aligned with business requirements in an Agile environment.
  • Analyze requirements, develop, test, and document software to ensure quality implementation.
  • Follow SDLC procedures to meet quality, security, and compliance standards.
  • Conduct thorough code reviews and enforce high engineering standards.
  • Write unit and integration tests using DevOps frameworks.
  • Perform application and project risk analysis; recommend quality improvements.
  • Support production by advising on system functionality and fixes.
  • Communicate delays or defects promptly to stakeholders.
  • Assist with departmental and new employee training.
  • Integrate modeling libraries; experience in risk analytics technology is a plus.
  • Mentor developers and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Required:
    • 7+ years of experience building high-speed, data-centric solutions.
    • Strong experience with distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Apache Flink, Spark, Kafka Streams).
    • Expertise with distributed message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, Amazon Kinesis).
    • Proficiency in Java (7+ years).
    • Experience with cloud technologies and migrations (AWS preferred).
    • Hands-on experience with AWS foundational services (VPC, EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, etc.).
    • Experience with public cloud providers (AWS, Google Cloud).
    • Strong knowledge of databases (Relational, NoSQL, Object-based, Graph).
    • Familiarity with DevOps tools (Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Helm, CI/CD pipelines).
    • Experience with monitoring tools (Splunk, ElasticSearch, Prometheus, AppDynamics).
    • Proficiency in Git workflows and testing frameworks (JUnit, Citrus).
  • Preferred:
    • Kafka expertise.
    • Risk analytics technology implementation experience.
