Vaco is hiring a highly detail-oriented Excel Data Analyst with exceptional Excel expertise to support business operations and strategic initiatives.

This is a direct hire - fully onsite role in the greater Cincinnati area.

This individual will report directly to company leadership and play a key role in analyzing business trends, supporting acquisitions, and driving data accuracy across the organization.

<>Role Overview</>

The Business Data Analyst will work closely with senior leadership, data teams, and department heads on a variety of projects, including data migrations from acquisitions, business process transformations, and cross-departmental reporting initiatives.
This role requires a deep understanding of business operations, as well as the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.

<>Key Responsibilities</>
  • Analyze, migrate, and transform data across systems such as Salesforce and other platforms to support business changes and reporting needs.

  • Develop advanced Excel models and dashboards to identify business trends, support decision-making, and monitor key performance indicators.

  • Reconcile and normalize data from multiple sources to ensure consistency and accuracy.

  • Investigate data discrepancies, perform root cause analyses, and recommend corrective actions.

  • Establish and maintain data quality metrics and documentation.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define and implement data governance best practices.

  • Design and support data validation processes to reduce duplication and improve reliability.

  • Shadow key departments to develop a strong understanding of business operations and data usage across the company.

<>Qualifications</>
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, Power Query, VBA/macros, etc.) — true Excel expert.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Experience with data cleansing, normalization, and reporting.

  • Proficiency in SQL and/or data integration tools preferred.

  • Excellent communication skills — able to clearly explain findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with data governance and master data management concepts is a plus.
