Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Job Profile Summary:
Provides routine and non-routine IT services to end users in order to support the mission of the institution through technology. Deploys enterprise managed tools that manage devices, deploys software and security updates of devices and applications across an enterprise, and updates documented processes.

Job Description:

Provide deskside, classroom, and lab technology support across Edson College. Keep endpoints reliable, resolve tickets quickly, and maintain clear documentation and
inventory. Over the long term, partner on improvements in the Grace Center and simulation spaces, and help explore practical AI and automation that speeds routine
work and improves service quality.

Position Salary Range: $61,400 - $63,000 per year; DOE

Essential Duties:
  • Receive, respond to, and monitor status of work-order requests for IT support, updating ticket systems to reflect activities performed and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Configure, deploy, and maintain desktop systems, laptops, and other IT equipment, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues for end users, focusing on deskside support.
  • Ensure connectivity and functionality of IT systems within simulation environments, including computers, AV systems, and networked devices.
  • Perform hardware replacements and upgrades, including components such as hard drives, network cards, and peripheral devices.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to identify technology needs and implement solutions that support academic and simulation activities.
  • Maintain inventory and documentation for all IT equipment and software, ensuring accurate records and availability of resources; assist in optimizing inventory processes to ensure resource availability.
  • Test, evaluate, and deploy software patches, upgrades, and new installations, preparing reports on findings as necessary.
  • Provide consultation and recommendations on IT hardware and software purchases to support academic and simulation activities.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for IT systems and processes to aid in knowledge sharing and troubleshooting; contribute input to departmental policies and procedures based on technical expertise and user feedback.
  • Participate in IT projects, including deployments, upgrades, and integration of new technologies, as directed by management.
  • Mentor and train new team members or student workers on IT systems, processes, and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot specialized applications and systems used in simulation and educational environments. Actively participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with emerging IT technologies and best practices.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong knowledge of troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues in a multi-platform environment.
  • Familiarity with TCP/IP configuration, network diagnostics, and tools such as NSLookup, IPConfig, and NetStat.
  • Experience in supporting AV systems and network-connected devices.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage inventory, maintain documentation, and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Basic project management skills, including task organization and scheduling.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate effectively with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Collaborate over time with Grace Center and simulation staff to streamline prep, checks, and support routines.
  • Identify repetitive workflows that are good candidates for scripting or AI assisted tools, then build small automations in Python or PowerShell with clear guardrails and documentation.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge of technical troubleshooting across platforms and environments.
  • Experience supporting AV systems or IT in educational or training environments.
  • Evidence of effective communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with inventory management and documentation processes.
  • Certifications such as MCP, CompTIA A+, or equivalent.
  • Scripting ability in Python or PowerShell and an interest in applied AI to improve IT operations.
  • Experience supporting technology in healthcare settings such as hospitals, clinics, or nursing education

Working Environment:
  • Activities are performed in an office and healthcare simulation environment, requiring frequent standing, sitting, and walking.
  • Physical demands may include stooping, bending, crawling, and lifting objects up to 50 pounds.
  • May occasionally work in cramped spaces or varying temperature conditions when deploying or troubleshooting IT equipment.
  • May require a flexible schedule, including occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends to support events or deployments.
