Job Details

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Technical Project Manager for a contract assignment with one of our premier Investment Management services clients in NYC, NY.

Responsibilities :
  • Responsible for translating plans into actionable, measurable results, providing direction, and adapting to change.
  • This individual will lead workstreams within strategic programs and be responsible for leading the delivery of stated outcomes.
  • Projects cover intersection with product management, product/platform engineering, infosec and production operations.
  • Collaborate with fellow project managers and program managers to drive/execute roadmaps for strategic initiatives.
  • Creation and execution of project plans & work streams as part of larger technical programs of work
  • Liaise with product management, product/platform engineering, info security and production operations taff

  • Follow through on open/outstanding action items owned by software/product/platform engineering team

Required Skills :
  • Break a problem down into its component parts - identify the root cause and develop a solution
  • Analyze problems and use learning process to gain deep understanding before deciding on a course of action
  • Demonstrate flexibility in handling change, being able to juggle multiple demands, and adapting to new situations with fresh ideas or innovative approaches
  • Connect Product and Engineering teams via applied Agility
  • Demonstrate consistent delivery of high-quality projects
  • Build trust with technologists
  • Financial services background (banks or asset managers)
    Technical project/program management expertise
  • Experienced with SDLC, waterfall and agile methodologies (scrum, kanban)
    Familiarity with technical products (PM and trading systems) and platforms (databases, infrastructure, file systems)
  • Preferred working experience with Sybase databases, Unix RHEL, authentication systems
  • Familiar with investment mgmt. lifecycle (portfolio mgmt., trade exec and confirms, compliance, ops reporting)
  • Proficiency in Azure DevOps, MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel) preferred
  • Preferred experience with project/product mgmt. tools such as Smartsheet
