Key Responsibilities
Conduct business process analysis to identify system gaps, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
Gather, document, and validate business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
Facilitate meetings with users, management, and technical teams to define project scope and objectives.
Translate business requirements into technical documentation including user stories, process maps, and data flow diagrams.
Collaborate with developers, QA analysts, and project managers to support solution design and testing activities.
Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) by developing test cases, validating results, and managing issue tracking.
Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training materials for system users.
Support data reporting needs, system integrations, and performance analytics as required by departmental stakeholders.
Ensure adherence to State of Michigan IT standards, security protocols, and project governance frameworks.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
3 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar analytical role.
Strong knowledge of SDLC methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid).
Proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Visio, Excel, JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to a dynamically changing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working on public-sector or government projects.
Prior engagement with Michigan statewide systems or departments.
Knowledge of data governance, enterprise architecture, and information security protocols.
Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), PMI-PBA, or similar certification.
