Job Title: OKTA L3 Engineer

Location: Hybrid (Toronto, ON)

Duration: Long Term Contract

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Okta L3 Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this critical role, you will provide advanced support for customer identity and access management (CIAM) systems including Okta, Auth0, and PingFederate. You will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving complex authentication issues, leading root cause analysis efforts, and ensuring seamless operations of IAM, SSO, and MFA services.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Level 3 (L3) support for Okta, Auth0, and related CIAM solutions.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of authentication, SSO, and MFA-related issues.
  • Analyze system logs, application performance, and operational workflows using tools such as Splunk and platform-specific monitoring tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including L1 Business Support, Engineering, and Security teams.
  • Manage IT Service Management (ITSM) processes including incident, problem, change, and configuration management.
  • Maintain and renew SSL certificates, and ensure secure system configurations.
  • Develop and maintain operational documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and knowledge base articles.
  • Assist in automation efforts using scripting languages such as Python and PowerShell.
  • Generate reports and dashboards using Power BI and Excel to support operational metrics and KPIs.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying trends, proposing enhancements, and implementing best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5 7 years of experience in technology application support and/or technology operations.
  • 3 4 years of hands-on experience supporting CIAM systems (Auth0, Okta, PingFederate, or similar).
  • Deep understanding of IAM concepts including authentication protocols, SSO, MFA, and user lifecycle management.
  • Strong experience analyzing logs, system behaviors, and performing root cause analysis.
  • Proficiency with ITSM tools and processes.
  • Experience working with SSL certificates, Windows Server, Linux systems.
  • Familiarity with scripting and automation using Python and PowerShell.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and drive initiatives to resolution in a high-pressure environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with OAuth, SAML, OpenID Connect protocols.
  • Certifications in Okta or other IAM platforms are a plus.
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure).
