PowerBI Developer

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a PowerBI Developer for a CONTRACT assignment with one of our premier Insurance/Financial Services clients in NY, NY.
Hybrid in Midtown NYC (3 days on site, 2 remote)
6 Month Contract

Job Summary :

• As a Microsoft Power BI Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions using Power BI, Databricks and dbt.
• You will work closely with stakeholders to understand their reporting needs and deliver high-quality dashboards and reports that drive data-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and understand reporting needs.
• Use Databricks and dbt to create gold reporting objects to be used by PowerBI dashboards.
• Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI.
• Create data models and perform data transformations using Power Query and DAX.
• Ensure data accuracy and integrity by implementing data validation and quality checks.
• Optimize Power BI reports for performance and usability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Document processes, data sources, and report specifications for future reference.

Required Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
• Min 5+ years experience as a Power BI Developer or similar role.
• Strong proficiency in Power BI, including Power Query, DAX, and data modeling.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Familiarity with data visualization best practices and principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Reinsurance industry knowledge is preferred.
• Excellent knowledge of Azure cloud services and data warehousing concepts.
• Excellent knowledge of Databricks and dbt.
• Certification in Microsoft Power BI or related technologies.
