This FPGA Engineer is a temporary a 5-month position from January through May 2026, working at least 20 hours per week. Dates, duration, and hours/week are negotiable.

Qualifications
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Enrolled in Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) major
  • Experience with digital design and VHDL or Verilog coding
  • Proficient in C/C++
  • Experience (internship or extensive classroom experience) with Xilinx, Altera or Microsemi/Microchip FPGAs
  • Experience (internship or extensive classroom experience) with Xilinx Vivado or Microsemi Libero software tools
  • Familiar with aspects of secure boot
  • Familiar with cryptographic algorithms
  • Familiar with RTOS's

Responsibilities
  • Support the architecture and design of FPGA-based security modules for computing systems
  • Digital design (VHDL) for FPGA/SoC implementations
  • Embedded software design (C/C++) for softcore processors in FPGAs and/or ARM-based processors in Xilinx or Microsemi SoCs
  • Develop testbenches for VHDL designs
  • Assist with hardware integration and test
  • Assist with developing software utilities to interface with FPGA designs
