Position: VMware hypervisor Consultant

Location: Hybrid in Seattle, WA

Duration: : 3+ Months will extend if amazing

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute migration of applications and services from VMware hypervisors to Red Hat KubeVirt.
  • Analyze existing VMware-based environments and define migration strategies in alignment with business requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, cloud, and operations teams to design scalable, secure, and resilient KubeVirt infrastructure.
  • Engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements, communicate progress, and manage expectations.
  • Document migration processes, architectures, and post-migration support models.
  • Identify potential risks and proactively suggest solutions during migration planning and execution.
  • Operate independently while collaborating within broader project teams to meet aggressive timelines.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi and associated virtualization technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud or on-prem virtualization migrations-especially migrating from VMware to alternative platforms (KubeVirt a strong plus).
  • Familiarity with Red Hat KubeVirt, OpenShift, or similar container-native virtualization platforms.
  • Deep understanding of virtualization, networking, storage, and cloud-native principles.
  • Stellar verbal and written communication skills; able to clearly articulate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable working in environments with ambiguity; self-driven and proactive.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within dynamic, cross-functional teams.
