Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented QA Engineer with a strong background in testing Customer Premises Equipment (CPE), including cable modems, routers, and fiber devices. The ideal candidate will have experience in DOCSIS, TR-069, mesh networking protocols, and advanced Wi-Fi testing methodologies. You will be responsible for validating device features, debugging issues, and ensuring high-quality software releases in a dynamic and fast-paced QA environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform test and validation of new features and firmware releases on CPE devices (cable modems, routers, fiber ONTs/ONUs).
  • Design and execute test cases for DOCSIS, TR-069, mesh networking, and other broadband technologies.
  • Set up and configure test environments including OctoScope and fiber testing setups.
  • Conduct comprehensive Wi-Fi and networking tests, including performance, roaming, and interoperability.
  • Debug and troubleshoot issues related to Passpoint/Hotspot 2.0, IP connectivity, routing, and device management.
  • Collaborate closely with development teams to report and track defects using Jira.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of test results, configurations, and procedures.
  • Participate in test planning, sprint reviews, and QA stand-ups as part of an Agile development process.

Primary Skills & Experience:

  • Experience with CPE device testing (cable modems, routers, fiber gateways).
  • In-depth understanding of DOCSIS, TR-069, and mesh networking protocols.
  • Strong knowledge of fiber broadband technologies and testing procedures.

Secondary Skills & Experience:

  • Hands-on experience with Passpoint and Hotspot 2.0 standards.
  • Proficiency in OctoScope and Wi-Fi performance testing.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DHCP, NAT, routing, etc.).
  • Experience with fiber installation and signal integrity testing.

Tertiary Skills:

  • Proficient in Jira for test case management and defect tracking.
  • Strong documentation skills using tools like Confluence, Google Docs, or similar.
