Description
We are looking for an experienced AS400/RPG Developer to join our team in Lancaster, Texas. In this long-term contract role, you will play a pivotal role in designing, programming, and improving software applications that meet organizational needs. This position requires a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and maintaining iSeries systems, ensuring seamless operations and performance.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and enhance program applications to address business requirements.
Create ad hoc programs and reports based on requests from management.
Troubleshoot and resolve software and hardware application issues to maintain uninterrupted operations.
Participate in a rotational on-call schedule to provide support for iSeries systems.
Ensure programs follow structured software design principles for scalability and efficiency.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement system improvements.
Document program changes and maintain accurate records for future reference.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Programming, or a related field; or an Associate's degree with at least two years of relevant experience.
Strong understanding of structured software design principles.
Proficiency in AS400 RPG, IBM RPG/400, and RPG/400.
Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Prior experience in transportation-related programming is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide effective solutions.
