ETL Data Engineer (Remote Texas, Local Candidates Preferred)
We are looking to hire a candidate with the skills sets mentioned and experience for one of our clients in Texas.
*Please note that we are currently not considering OTP work authorization at this time.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled ETL Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain data extraction, transformation, and loading processes for our data warehouse and reporting systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with ETL tools, data modeling, SQL, and cloud-based data platforms. Prior experience working with state or government clients is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable ETL processes to ingest data from multiple sources.
- Collaborate with data architects, business analysts, and stakeholders to understand data requirements.
- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries and stored procedures for data extraction and transformation.
- Monitor ETL workflows, troubleshoot issues, and ensure data quality and integrity.
- Maintain detailed documentation of data pipelines, data models, and process flows.
- Perform data profiling and cleansing to support analytics and reporting initiatives.
- Assist in migrating legacy data systems to modern cloud-based platforms.
- Work with DevOps and QA teams to ensure smooth deployment and testing of data pipelines.
- Ensure security, compliance, and privacy standards are met across data systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5 7+ years of experience in ETL development and data engineering.
- Strong proficiency with ETL tools (Like Informatica, Talend, SSIS, Apache NiFi, DataStage).
- Solid experience in SQL and working with large relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform is a plus.
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
- Experience with scripting languages like Python or Shell scripting for automation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
