Description

We are looking for an experienced Audio Visual Engineer to join our team in Sarasota, Florida, on a Contract to permanent basis. This role will focus on designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced AV solutions for conference rooms, ensuring seamless virtual and in-person collaboration for county employees and partners. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional audio-visual experiences.

Responsibilities:
Design and implement AV solutions for conference rooms, including virtual meeting setups, live streams, and presentations using Cisco WebEx and Microsoft Teams integration.
Install AV equipment such as structured cabling, mounting hardware, and other necessary components while ensuring secure and efficient configurations.
Troubleshoot and resolve AV system issues, providing timely onsite support to ensure uninterrupted functionality.
Maintain and optimize AV systems, ensuring equipment and software are up-to-date and performing at peak efficiency.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Facilities and Training departments, to deliver comprehensive AV solutions.
Develop self-service resources and training materials to empower employees to use AV tools independently.
Research and recommend emerging AV technologies to improve system capabilities and stay ahead of industry trends.
Manage AV asset inventory, develop cost models, and create refresh schedules for equipment replacements.
Program and support Crestron and Extron equipment, ensuring compatibility with existing systems and efficient operation.
Ensure seamless integration of Cisco AV products with third-party microphones, speakers, and projectors.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of related experience, or Master's degree with 2 years of experience; relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
Strong knowledge of AV cabling standards and requirements, including category cabling specifications.
Proficiency with Cisco AV products and their integration with Microsoft Teams and third-party equipment.
Experience programming and maintaining Crestron and Extron AV systems.
Familiarity with AV design standards such as Dante and AirMedia.
Ability to plan, install, and manage AV systems for conference rooms of varying sizes.
Expertise in troubleshooting AV systems and providing effective solutions.
Knowledge of Active Directory Users & Computers (ADUC) and its role in AV system integration.
