Primary Responsibilities and Key Performance Indicators:
- Design and develop precision tools including dies, gauges, and fixtures to support the production of high-spec mechanical components.
- Create detailed 3D models and tooling documentation using industry-standard CAD systems.
- Lead and manage tooling projects, ensuring timely delivery while adapting to shifting priorities and timelines.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary engineering teams to define, iterate, and finalize tooling solutions.
- Ensure tool designs reflect current best practices in efficiency, manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and performance.
- Evaluate feedback and reports from tool fabrication teams to ensure final products meet design intent and quality standards.
- Mentor and train junior-level engineers in tooling design methodologies and best practices.
Supplemental Responsibilities:
- Communicate effectively across departments and with various levels of leadership to align on tooling objectives.
- Support additional engineering or project-based tasks as needed.
- Uphold compliance with internal policies and professional conduct standards.Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or at least 5 years of hands-on experience in the design and development of precision tooling such as dies, molds, gauges, and fixtures.
- Demonstrated expertise in creating both single- and multi-plane tool systems.
- Previous experience in tooling design for industries requiring high precision and regulatory compliance (e.g., aerospace or automotive).
- Ability to coordinate technical efforts between internal teams and external tooling suppliers, including design reviews and approvals.
- Active participation in supplier meetings and technical discussions during tooling build phases to ensure timelines and specifications are achieved.
- Proficiency in CAD software (experience with NX or SolidWorks is advantageous).
- Strong communication and organizational skills to manage project documentation and interdepartmental interactions.
- Proficient in using standard office applications and technical software tools for modeling, analysis, and documentation.
Compensation depends on experience but is typically $115-120K plus 9% profit sharing based bonus (w/ a multiplier)ABOUT KORE1
