About this job

At CarMax, we are constantly delivering new technology platforms and capabilities to our Associates. In this role you will be supporting business partners who are using the UKG and Kronos platforms for Timekeeping, Attendance, Accruals, Attestation and Advanced Scheduling. You will be on the front line of developing key changes to our UKG Pro platform to offer solutions for our business partners in a variety of modules.

What you will do - Essential Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable, high-quality software solutions using Azure cloud services and C#
  • Collaborate with colleagues in design, product management, and systems architecture to develop solutions and bring great ideas to life
  • Work to integrate key business and HR platforms (Workday, Payroll, external vendors, etc) into UKG Pro WFM
  • Champion test-based development and automated testing methodologies
  • Have an openness to supporting and learning about UKG Pro WFM software and processes
  • Stay on top of industry trends and best practices to continuously improve what we do and ensure our customer experience is the best it can be
  • Mentor team in platform management and reusable patterns
  • Be part of a nights/weekend on-call rotation

Purpose of the role

It takes a passion for technology and issue resolution to be successful in this role. The purpose of this role is to develop working solutions for our business partners in the UKG, Kronos and Azure platforms so that Associates and CarMax can effectively implement key HR tasks.

Qualifications and Requirements

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Decision Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent alternative education, skills, and/or practical experience is required and 5+ years of relevant work experience or

Master's Degree in Computer Science, Decision Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent alternative education, skills, and/or practical experience is required and 3+ years of relevant work experience

2+ years coding experience in C#

Demonstrable experience building and deploying resilient cloud architectures

Demonstrable experience creating and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Team City or Azure DevOps

Demonstrable experience with a range of Azure cloud capabilities including but not limited to Application Services, Function Apps, Blob Storage, Storage Queue, Application Insights, Key Vault, Build Pipelines, Cosmos and Azure Bus

Strong knowledge of noSQL and relational databases

Excellent attention to detail, problem investigation and diagnostic skills

Work Location and Arrangement: This role will can based out of the Richmond, VA Technology Innovation Center or our Dallas Technology Hub and have a Hybrid work arrangement.
