Job Summary:
We are seeking a strategic, hands-on Workday HRIS Manager to lead our HRIS function and help us maximize the value of our Workday investment. The ideal candidate will have deep configuration expertise, particularly across Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking, and will be comfortable leading projects and a small team. This person will partner with cross-functional HR stakeholders and act as the go-to expert on Workday optimization and configuration.
You'll manage two HRIS Analysts and work closely with HR and Employee Services leadership to enhance user experience, streamline business processes, and ensure our systems support organizational goals. We are not seeking a consultant or someone balancing multiple roles we re looking for someone ready to roll up their sleeves and grow with us.

Key Initiatives & Priorities:
- Time Off Reconfiguration Project: ~50% complete and needs strategic direction and execution.
- Time Tracking Implementation: Upcoming configuration project requiring hands-on setup.
- Continuous HCM Process Optimization: Business process improvement, payroll alignment, and security updates.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop HRIS team members while managing daily configuration and support needs.
- Act as the SME and lead system configurator across core modules, especially Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking (PATT).
- Maintain a Workday roadmap outlining enhancements, integrations, and support plans.
- Collaborate with HR, Payroll, Benefits, Talent, Finance, and IT teams to identify and implement system improvements.
- Prioritize and track HRIS-related requests, enhancements, and projects in alignment with business needs.
- Drive people analytics and support reporting/dashboard initiatives.
- Ensure Workday semi-annual releases are tested, reviewed, and optimized for adoption.
- Champion Workday adoption and provide user support and training as needed.
- Act as the liaison with Workday support and any third-party vendors.
- Maintain system compliance including SOX controls, audit readiness, and change management.
Qualifications: Required
- 5+ years of hands-on Workday configuration experience across HCM, Payroll, Absence, Time Tracking, and Reporting.
- Strong background in business process configuration, EIBs, calculated fields, and security setup.
- Experience managing or mentoring HRIS team members or acting in a team lead capacity.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve Workday issues independently.
- Strategic thinking with a roll-up-your-sleeves mentality.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience supporting Workday post-implementation and ongoing optimization.
Preferred
- Experience leading enterprise-level HR technology teams or HRIS functions.
- Prior experience managing system integrations and/or M&A activity.
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Information Systems, or related field.
- Experience with Advanced Compensation and Performance Management modules a plus.
