We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Information Technology Systems Architect to join our clients dynamic team at a major university hospital health system in Philadelphia, PA. Job Title: Information Technology Systems Architect

Location: Philadelphia, PA (hybrid - onsite Tues, Wed, and Thurs)

Industry: University Hospital Health System

Salary: $135k/yr+ (Depending on Experience)

Length: Perm/Direct Hire

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and architect IT systems, with a strong emphasis on cloud solutions (Azure).
  • Develop proof of concepts to validate architectural designs.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure successful implementation of IT solutions.
  • Evaluate and integrate medical devices into the hospitals IT infrastructure.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of vendor solutions, covering all aspects of IT including servers, networking, and cloud components.
  • Provide expert guidance on networking technologies (CISCO, Extreme, Aruba), servers, and VMware.
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
  • Participate in meetings with vendors and internal teams, asking critical questions to uncover potential issues.
  • Offer opinions and articulate technical or workflow issues confidently.
  • Define IT solutions to business, clinical, and research challenges via architectures, systems, applications, and process components.
  • Integrate a variety of applications, diverse hardware, software components, and information/data analytics.
  • Define and implement a complementary IT systems architecture strategy aligned with the organizations goals.
  • Ensure individual projects adhere to the organizations architecture governance and application development methodology.
  • Maintain a holistic view of IT, including networking, server hardware, operating systems, virtualization, data storage, appliances, end-user devices, cloud environments, information security, Bio-Med equipment, Clinical applications, and productivity suites.
  • Create and review design, SOW, proposal, project charter, SBAR, PO, procedures, and standards documentation as part of the architecture team.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT, with a focus on systems architecture.
  • Strong engineering background with hands-on experience in cloud technologies, particularly Azure.
  • Proficiency in networking technologies (CISCO, Extreme, Aruba) and server management.
  • Experience with VMware and other virtualization technologies.
  • Familiarity with healthcare/hospital IT systems and medical devices.
  • Ability to work independently and navigate complex IT environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
  • Experience in Managed Service Provider (MSP) environments is a plus.
