DIVISION STATEMENT
The Fluid Systems Division (FSD) is a foremost business and technology partner for the aerospace industry, leading the world's premiere aircraft manufacturers through the design and integration of Fuel, Inerting, Gauging, Electronics, and Engine Systems. FSD's products and services advance the profitability of our Customers, and to that end, we invest heavily in our capacity to architect, analyze, build, and test our products in support of ever-more demanding aerospace requirements.
The Parker FSD has two facilities based in California one in North Hollywood and the other in Irvine. Each facility designs, manufactures and tests valves and controls that regulate the flow of air and fluids under pressure and high temperatures. Its pneumatic and fluid control product lines are used in commercial and military aircraft.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Engineering Design Tool Specialist is responsible for leading functional or product line teams, supporting the Fluid Systems Division in developing and providing pneumatic flow control systems for aerospace airframe and engines from the proposals through joint definition and into entry into service. The Engineering Design Tool Specialist will help develop executable detail designs and design documents (including CAD models) as well as leading technology development, new product introduction, and sustaining engineering support activities. This is a job for a hands-on, working leader with significant technical expertise in design and qualification of relevant products. This role will also support the engineering systems such as CAD, PDM, PLM, MBD and MBSE through development, deployment and significant upgrades.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide design support to the Engineering Department for aerospace pneumatic, fuel, and electromechanically actuated valves used in military and commercial aircraft. Apply drafting skills in accordance with ANSI Y14.5 and ASME Y14.100 standards.
- Maintain up-to-date design knowledge along with associated technical standards, practices, procedures, and training programs. Drive continuous improvement in knowledge management to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the design engineering team.
- Manage people, processes, and activities to:
a) Complete design activities on time and in compliance with contractual obligations.
b) Achieve part design-to-cost objectives and adhere to resource budgets.
c) Ensure design compliance with all requirements.
Monitor costs, schedules, and quality of work, independently initiating and leading corrective and preventive actions when necessary. - Maintain strong internal relationships with technology development, new product introduction, and sustaining engineering organizations, as well as program management and other IPT functional team members and leaders. Collaborate closely with other shared service leaders (analysis and test) within flow control engineering.
- Travel domestically and internationally may be required occasionally to fulfill the responsibilities.
- Assign, prioritize, and coordinate tasks among technical staff and external service providers to execute engineering design projects. Develop and sustain both local direct staff and offshore contracted design teams.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field, which has provided both theoretical and practical knowledge in the field.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through eight or more years of increasingly responsible related program administration related experience.
- Experience in aerospace or a similarly regulated industry, preferably working with pneumatic, fuel, and oil valves and/or actuators for aerospace applications.
- Training and certifications in Six Sigma (DFSS, DMAIC, etc.) and Lean methodologies (including 6S) are advantageous but not required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to manage small teams of engineers and designers to achieve both short- and long-term objectives. Skilled in coaching, developing, and training engineers, as well as fostering cultural change.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design, CAD modeling, geometric tolerancing, requirements analysis, valve assembly packaging and functionality, and applying engineering analysis results to product development.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate across organizations for shared success. Proven ability to coordinate with customers, suppliers, and third-party organizations, including field service teams, equipment operators, and test facilities.
- Proficiency with aerospace industry development processes, such as AS9100-compliant practices.

- Pay Range: \$95,525/annually to \$159,402/annually
- Participation in Annual Incentive Program
