Senior UX Designer

UX Designer - Education Technology Solutions
Location: Austin, TX (90% remote)
Duration: 3+ months

At iSphere, we re partnering with a client who s using technology to make a real difference in education and they need a UX Designer who can turn complex requirements into intuitive, human-centered solutions. This role is all about helping parents, teachers, schools, and district leaders focus on what really matters: their students.

You ll work with minimal supervision and a lot of latitude for creative problem-solving, while staying grounded in user experience best practices and aligned with ongoing work in the field.

What You ll Do

• Oversee UX/UI design efforts to ensure decisions are grounded in real user needs, follow agency-wide standards, and reflect industry best practices.

• Translate research into user stories, requirements, workflows, wireframes, and prototypes and collaborate on the future product roadmap.

• Use user testing and outreach to confirm products meet the needs of real end users, in partnership with stakeholders.

• Collaborate closely with product teams, senior leadership, and internal/external partners to create designs that work and can be built.

What You Bring

• 8+ years in software product development, digital design, UX/UI, or a related field.

• 8+ years designing mockups and/or wireframes that follow UX best practices.

• 8+ years conducting user and usability research.

• 5+ years with strong writing, organization, communication, and facilitation skills.

• 4+ years leading large-scale UX/UI efforts and using Figma (or similar) to produce wireframes, mockups, and prototypes.

• 3+ years ensuring designs/websites meet federal accessibility guidelines.

• 1+ year with a portfolio showing user research, visual design, and usability studies.

• Bonus points for:

  • Experience with Atlassian Jira (3+ years)

  • Experience with TEA or other state/local education agencies (2+ years)
