Description

We are looking for an experienced SQL Server Database Administrator to join our team in West Des Moines, Iowa. This Contract-to-permanent position involves managing SQL Server databases, ensuring their performance, and optimizing their functionality. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and the ability to troubleshoot issues while collaborating with development teams.

Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain SQL Server databases, including tasks such as integration, stored procedures, and user-defined functions.
Troubleshoot database issues, including security, backups, logging, reporting, and recovery procedures.
Provide guidance and support during the development and enhancement of production applications.
Implement and manage database changes, ensuring smooth and efficient releases.
Monitor database performance, utilization, and capacity to minimize downtime and ensure optimal operation.
Analyze, develop, test, and document enhancements to existing programs or create new database-related solutions as required.
Optimize database performance through thorough tuning and analysis.
Ensure adherence to best practices for database security and compliance.

Requirements

Proficiency in SQL Server, including expertise in Integration Services, Transact-SQL, and SQL Server Agent.
Experience with Azure SQL Database and MySQL.
Strong skills in performance tuning and database optimization.
Knowledge of database administration for versions such as SQL Server 2008 and beyond.
Ability to analyze and document technical enhancements and processes.
Familiarity with SQL Server development and analysis tools.
Strong troubleshooting skills for database-related issues.
Experience with capacity planning and ensuring system reliability.
