Java Google Cloud Platform Developer-Alpharetta, GA (Hybrid)

Role: Java Developer

Location: Alpharetta, GA (3 days a week onsite)

Duration: 12+ Months

Responsibilities:

• Partner closely with Product Owners to refine requirements, review designs, and translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Own sprint backlog items end-to-end, from design and development to testing and delivery.
• Lead technical design discussions, architecture decisions, and code reviews.
• Develop and maintain scalable, high-performance applications across service and UI layers.
• Ensure best practices around code quality, reusability, security, and performance.
• Support QA activities including test planning, defect analysis, and resolution.
• Participate in client demos and technical walkthroughs for delivered features.
• Collaborate in Agile / Scaled Agile teams to continuously improve delivery and engineering standards.

Requirements:

• 6+ years of hands-on experience in Java/J2EE application development.
• Strong expertise in Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, RESTful APIs, and enterprise application architecture.
• Experience building and consuming APIs using JSON, Swagger/OpenAPI, and REST web services.
• Solid understanding of multi-tier and microservices architectures.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL.
• Hands-on experience with application servers such as Tomcat and WebSphere.
• Strong exposure to Agile / Scaled Agile delivery models.
• Experience with CI/CD and quality tools such as Jenkins, Sonar, Bitbucket, Jira, and Confluence.
• Working knowledge of cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud (Google Cloud Platform); AWS exposure is a plus.
• Strong experience supporting responsive, cross-browser web applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit and test automation practices.
• Solid understanding of design patterns, UML, and application architecture principles.
• Prior experience in financial services or enterprise-scale applications.
• Strong communication and technical leadership skills, with the ability to mentor junior developers.
