ASSYST is seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to support our client in Austin, Texas.
Location: Austin, Texas Job Type: Contract (W2/C2C or 1099) Position: Onsite, No Remote Work Allowed.
Job Description We are seeking a highly experienced DevOps Engineer to support our enterprise application lifecycle management, continuous integration/delivery, infrastructure automation, and collaborative development processes. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in cloud infrastructure, scripting, DevOps tools, CI/CD pipelines, and team collaboration in Agile environments. Responsibilities

  • Analyze information needs and system workflows to design and develop robust software solutions.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Design and install scalable solutions by establishing system specifications and programming standards.
  • Provide hands-on technical support for application testing, deployment, and troubleshooting.
  • Conduct system-level analysis and resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
  • Maintain comprehensive technical and architectural documentation.
  • Perform ongoing defect analysis, performance tuning, and system maintenance.
  • Collaborate closely with Agile Scrum teams and operate effectively in DevOps environments.
  • Administer and automate CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and Ansible.
  • Manage AWS cloud infrastructure, including EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, and Infrastructure as Code using CloudFormation and Terraform.
  • Administer Jira projects, workflows, permissions, automation rules, and generate insightful reports.
  • Support provisioning, maintenance, and backup strategies for virtual machines in Hyper-V environments.
  • Perform additional duties as required in support of IT operations and development.

Required Skills

  • 8+ years of administration experience with Atlassian Jira, GitHub Enterprise Cloud, and Hyper-V servers (including backup and disaster recovery).
  • Extensive hands-on expertise with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, Docker, Ansible, OpenShift.
  • Hands-on experience with Automation/Build tools: Jenkins, Docker, Ansible and OpenShift. App & Web Servers: WebSphere, JBoss and Tomcat. Scripting: Maven, Shell, Ruby, Perl and Python. Databases: Oracle, MySQL and Postgres .
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using Maven, Shell, Ruby, Perl, and Python.
  • Strong technical support and user training background, with a focus on issue analysis/resolution across all user levels.
  • Experience integrating GitHub webhooks for compliance automation and working in Agile environments on large-scale projects.
