A client in the broadcasting space is looking to hire a NOC Analyst on a contact basis. This is a 4-5 month contract opportunity with the possibility for extension. Onsite in Dallas, TX.
In the role as a NOC Analyst you will be responsible for monitoring large computer networks and server farms for problems from a central location. You will analyze problems, perform troubleshooting and incident response on the systems, communicate with Operations teams and track problems through to resolution. You will perform operational and monitoring enhancements, including but not limited to process improvement and documentation updates. You will also be responsible for 24x7 monitoring of systems performance and communicating any problems to team and management during production incidents.

Required Skills & Experience
- Associate's Degree in Computer Science or related technical school education. Equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
- 2-4 years related experience in a computer/network operations environment
- Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment with the capacity to multitask, pay close attention to detail, stay organized and manage time effectively
- Excellent communication skills
- Work independently or as a member of a team
- Work closely with IT personnel regarding operations issues
- Flexibility in working a variety of shifts (12 hours per shift) is required. May require weekends or overnights.
What You Will Be Doing
Daily Responsibilities
- Assist with maintaining NOC operational, escalation, and notification documentation.
- Own efforts for incident notifications, gathering internal participants for triage sessions and communications via notifications to all internal and external stakeholders
- Document steps taken during the Incident to resolve the issue and communicate them to the incident team
- Coordinates with the IT Support Center any necessary problem escalation and makes sure operations staff and management are informed of any major errors.
- Timely and accurately create and update Incident Tickets using ticketing system.
- Ensures all work is done completely and correctly, including all logs and preventative maintenance.
- Monitors overall system, server and application performance. Notes and records anomalies and recommend enhancement to improve performance.
- Identify any trends in the current monitoring system and recommend changes or improvements.
- Recommend changes and enhancements that improve efficiency of operation.
- Thoroughly communicate shift review to oncoming shift.
- Maintains all logs, records, and reports relative to shift operations.
- Perform scheduled maintenance activities.
- Performs Network password reset requests.
