Job Title: Lead Java Consultant
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Technical Leadership (Java Consulting):
Design and develop scalable, secure, and high-performing Java-based enterprise applications.
Lead architectural discussions and decisions related to Java, Spring, Microservices, and cloud-based solutions (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform).
Mentor and guide junior developers, conduct code reviews, and enforce best practices in development and testing.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including UI/UX, QA, DevOps, and Product Management to deliver quality solutions.
Ensure compliance with coding standards, security protocols, and performance benchmarks.
Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide innovative solutions in real time.
2. Diversity & Inclusion Advocacy:
Champion inclusive hiring practices in technical teams to ensure a diverse workforce in terms of gender, race, disability, and other underrepresented groups.
Facilitate cultural sensitivity training and awareness sessions within the engineering teams.
Act as a liaison between leadership and DEI initiatives to improve equitable career development opportunities.
Lead employee resource groups (ERGs), tech talks, and community outreach programs focused on inclusion in tech.
Work closely with HR, recruitment, and leadership to track and report diversity metrics across technical departments.
3. Team Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
Act as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders to align development with company goals.
Represent diverse voices during product design discussions to ensure user inclusivity and accessibility.
Create safe spaces for feedback and innovation by fostering a collaborative and respectful work culture.
Support the integration of inclusive design principles in all stages of the software development lifecycle.
4. Training & Development:
Conduct training on inclusive coding practices and bias mitigation in AI/ML algorithms (if relevant).
Promote and support the upskilling of underrepresented employees in Java and backend technologies.
Develop documentation and knowledge-sharing sessions that reflect diverse learning styles and cultural perspectives.
