Job Title: IS Security Architect

Location: Illinois (IL)

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Information Security (IS) Architect to design, develop, and implement secure architecture solutions that protect enterprise systems, data, and digital assets. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in enterprise security frameworks and financial sector security controls, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and organizational security policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement enterprise-level security architecture aligned with our cybersecurity standards and business objectives.

Develop and maintain security reference architectures, standards, and best practices across applications, networks, and cloud platforms.

Partner with application, infrastructure, and cloud engineering teams to embed security into solution designs.

Conduct threat modeling, risk assessments, and architecture reviews to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities.

Provide expert guidance on data protection, encryption, IAM, and network segmentation.

Support regulatory and compliance efforts (e.g., FFIEC, GLBA, SOX, PCI-DSS, NIST).

Evaluate and recommend security technologies such as SIEM, DLP, CASB, EDR, and Zero Trust frameworks.

Act as a trusted advisor for technical and business stakeholders on cybersecurity strategy and roadmaps.

Lead the development of secure-by-design solutions for our digital transformation initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience:

8+ years of experience in Information Security, including 4+ years as a Security Architect in large enterprise environments.

Strong understanding of financial industry security standards and risk management frameworks.

Expertise in network, cloud (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform), and application security architecture.

Experience with identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and threat modeling.

Hands-on experience with tools such as Splunk, CrowdStrike, Zscaler, Palo Alto, or Okta.

Knowledge of compliance and governance standards: NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, FFIEC.

Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Relevant certifications preferred: CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or TOGAF.

Education:

Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (Master s preferred)
