Job Details
Title: DB2- DBA (IBM iSeries)
Location: Remote
Duration: 6 Months Contract to Hire
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in software development or system administration.
- 8-10 years of experience with IBM i server administration and DB2 for i platform (DB2/400) required (client flexible with years of IBM i experience - willing to take less experience)
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience with DB2 for i as a database administrator (DBA).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with relational database management systems (RDBMS) and OLTP/OLAP concepts.
- Proficiency in IBM i navigation, including ACS, Schemas, Run SQL, plan cache, stored procedures, and creating user-defined functions (UDFs).
- Strong skills in writing complex SQL queries, including joins, sub-selects, and with statements.
- Proven experience managing high-volume, high-velocity application/data environments.
- Familiarity with build management and continuous integration tools is a plus.
- Understanding of DevOps concepts and Agile software development methodologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a professional demeanor and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong aptitude and willingness to learn new technologies and concepts.
- Ability to estimate and plan medium to large-sized platform activities.
- Regular, predictable attendance is required for this role.
- Willingness to travel as needed and work within specified schedules and locations.
