Sr. Solution Architect, Process Automation (remote)

We are seeking an senior solution architect within our Next-Gen Solutions and Accelerators function to drive the evolution of our service offerings in process / batch automation systems integration for our clients. This is a strategic role requiring in depth knowledge of the process and batch automation and the specific technologies used in Life sciences.

Responsibilities:

Working as part of the Next Gen Solutions and Accelerators team with responsibility for technical solutioning on process and batch automation projects / programs.

Process Automation offering includes responsibility to engineer, design, develop, test, validate and commission the DCS / PLC-SCADA solutions at greenfield manufacturing sites as well as expansions at existing sites.

Develop solution design, execution approach and effort estimates for proposals or RFP s, participate in presentations to clients to share our solution and the values proposition.

Own and enhance the estimation tools and execution methods

Identify, design and develop tools and accelerators to transform engineering and system integration service capabilities, in close collaboration with technical and engineering managers across regional delivery teams

Collate, update and maintain execution methodology documentation. Share the knowledge and best practices within the regional engineering manager and project manager community

Enhance global service capabilities and share the best practices across regional teams

Develop the delivery capabilities for the service, team and assist in selection of right candidates

Develop delivery methodologies and managed service models for process automation offerings

Develop partnerships with leading process automation (DCS) vendors and other system integrators, as feasible and applicable

Manage and maintain track of DCS engineering and other software licenses required and assigned to projects

Closely work with sales and regional teams to define business plans and goals for process automation offerings

Collaborate with consulting team for front end studies, on need basis, gain any new insights and client specific knowledge on the upcoming system integration opportunities

Required Competencies, Education and Experience:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a strong ability to motivate, manage divergent views & drive collaboration.

Building and leading teams, quantifying resource requirements, working with Talent management and internal stakeholders on sourcing and developing key skillsets

Min 12 to 15 years experience working in system integration, engineering and commissioning of control systems (DeltaV DCS, PLC, SCADA etc.) within life sciences industry to be essential

Good understanding of both control system hardware, software engineering and GAMP5

Understanding of Servers, Virtual Machines, Thin Clients, Control LAN s and networking, is essential.

Experience of working with IT & OT (Engineering, Automation) stakeholders in the delivery of OT solution

Knowledge of ISA95 Enterprise Control System Integration framework

Knowledge of current IT/OT landscape and platform deployment in manufacturing

Experience developing of business case and presentations to senior stakeholders would be added advantage.

Excellent cross functional people management skills across regions, customers, and 3rd parties.

Proven ability to influence senior Leaders and motive cross functional and regional teams.

Project management / program management experience

Excellent presentation and facilitation skills

Flexible to travel global across US, Europe & Asia, on need basis

Science or Engineering Degree qualification

Post Graduate Qualification in a related discipline to be added advantage.

Salary and Other Compensation:
Applications will be accepted until Sept 25th 2025.

The annual salary for this position is between $100,470K -$181,000 K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant s applicable plans
