Position: Lead Application Developer
Office Location: Philadelphia, PA
Duties: Deliver technical solutions for a Provider Engagement web portal application that allows area health-care providers to connect and interact with Independence Family of Companies to transact business electronically. Bring the business requirement from a conceptual design to a technical solution through all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC): technical design, development, unit test, functional test support, and production implementation. Work closely with various solution development and infrastructure teams such as application development teams, DevOps team, and System Administrators. Work with business partners to understand business needs and to translate the specific requirements into technical solutions. Develop, maintain, and administer Liferay-based web portal solutions, customizations to the core Liferay product, and Spring Java APIs that enable business functionality. Set up and maintain configuration and development platform for Liferay portal solutions. Manage growth and scale of web server farm. Plan capacity and load test for anticipated need. Develop architecture diagrams appropriate for the application. Conduct and participate in technical architecture reviews to validate the solution's conformance to customer and systems requirements. Work with Application Architects and Database Administrators to enable full-stack solutions that integrate front-end content management systems and applications and backend database systems or APIs. May work remotely within normal commuting distance of Philadelphia, PA.
Requirements: bachelor's degree in computer science, electronic engineering, or a related technology field plus 10 years of post-bachelor SDLC experience. Experience must include SQL Server Database and SQL.
Hybrid
Independence has implemented a "Hybrid" model which consists of Associates working in the office 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday) and remotely 2 days a week (Monday & Friday). This role is designated as a role that fits into the "Hybrid" model. While associates may work remotely on our designated remote days, the work must be performed in the Tri-State Area of Delaware, New Jersey or Pennsylvania.
