Title: Project Manager III
Location: Chicago, IL, 60661 (Hybrid- 3 days per week in the office)
Duration: 2+ months
Work Schedule: 9 am to 5 pm Mon-Fri (Must be flexible, will work with others outside of the US).
Description:
- We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Program Manager to lead the development and execution of a critical Supplier Sourcing Transformation.
- This critical role will be responsible for meticulously analyzing our existing component supply-base, identifying alternative sourcing opportunities outside of our current landscape, and prioritizing all actions and deliverables based on their highest potential product revenue impact.
- The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of global supply chains, excellent program management skills, and the ability to navigate complex geopolitical and operational challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategy Development: Collaborate and align with cleint's Procurement category managers to define risk mitigated Supplier Sourcing Strategies by component category, outlining clear objectives, timelines and measurable outcomes.
- Supply Base Analysis: Conduct a thorough analysis of the existing supply chain landscape, identifying key high risk suppliers and manufacturing locations, product dependencies, volume, cost structures and potential risks associated with relocation.
- Validate Alternative Sourcing Opportunities: Review alternative sourcing opportunities, considering factors such as cost, quality, lead-time, capacity, geopolitical stability and logistical feasibility.
- Revenue Impact Prioritization: Develop and implement a robust prioritization framework for all sourcing actions and deliverables, explicitly linking them to their potential impact on product revenue. Focus efforts on initiatives that yield the highest positive revenue outcomes.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate closely with Procurement, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, Sales, Finance and Legal teams to ensure alignment and successful execution of the strategy.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks associated with supply chain transitions, including supply disruptions, cost increases, quality issues, and intellectual property concerns.
- Stakeholder Communication: Establish and maintain strong communication channels with all internal stakeholders, including executive leadership, providing regular updates on program progress, challenges and successes.
- Budget & Resource Management: Manage program budgets, including new tooling/NRE required, leveraging a financial ROI mindset with prioritized recommendations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in program management, supply chain management, strategic sourcing, or procurement, with a strong focus on global operations.
- Proven experience in developing and executing complex supply chain strategies, particularly involving geographical shifts or risk mitigation.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze large datasets, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Exceptional project management skills, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closing projects.
- PMP or equivalent certification is a plus.
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to understand and articulate the revenue and cost implications of sourcing decisions.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of an organization.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Fluency in English required.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with specific geopolitical supply chain shifts or geographic risk mitigation strategies.
- Familiarity with various manufacturing processes and industry-specific supply chain nuances, especially in Electronics and Semiconductor supply bases..
- Proven track record of driving significant cost savings or revenue protection through strategic sourcing initiatives.
