Title: IT Project Manager - Pharmaceutical
Location: On-site, Bloomington, IN
Client Industry: Pharmaceutical Manufacturing/Life Sciences
Compensation: $50 - $65/hr.
We have partnered with our client in their search for a high-visibility, on-site IT Project Manager role overseeing the full project life-cycle for multiple technology initiatives in a regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. You will drive schedules, budgets, resources, vendors, and quality-using Smartsheet and standard PM methodologies-while acting as the primary communication hub between IT, business stakeholders, and third-party partners.
Responsibilities
Own end-to-end delivery for concurrent IT infrastructure, application, and compliance projects (initiation through closeout)
Build and maintain integrated project schedules, RAID logs, resource plans, and executive dashboards in Smartsheet
Facilitate daily stand-ups, status reviews, and senior-level steering committees; publish concise updates and action items
Track project budgets, purchase orders, vendor SOWs, and invoices; reconcile actuals vs. forecast and report variances
Coordinate cross-functional teams (IT, Quality, Manufacturing, Validation, Finance, external vendors) to remove blockers and meet milestones
Enforce GxP compliance, CSV, and data-integrity standards throughout project activities
Manage change control, risk mitigation, and issue escalation, ensuring timely resolution and documentation
Capture lessons learned and implement continuous-improvement practices across the PMO
Skills Required
Expert-level Smartsheet plus solid MS Project/Excel/PowerPoint skills
An understanding of GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, computerized-system validation, and quality-by-design principles
Strong financial acumen: budget creation, cost tracking, invoice approval, and vendor management
Influential leadership and meeting-facilitation abilities; comfortable presenting to VPs/C-suite
Working knowledge of SDLC, Agile/Scrum, and hybrid methodologies; experience with Jira or Azure DevOps a plus
Superior documentation, risk management, and analytical problem-solving skills
Education & Work Experience
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's or MBA a plus)
4 - 5+ years overall IT experience with 3+ years dedicated project-management responsibility in a regulated pharma/biotech setting
