Description
We are looking for a dedicated Help Desk Specialist to join our team in Richmond, Virginia. This is a long-term contract position that requires a proactive individual with strong problem-solving skills and a passion for delivering excellent technical support. The ideal candidate will assist in diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues, while maintaining high standards of professionalism and communication.
Responsibilities:
Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues related to hardware, software, and operating systems.
Document issue details, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions using a ticketing system.
Escalate critical or unresolved issues to the appropriate teams in a timely manner.
Collaborate with IT colleagues to research and develop problem resolutions and technical documentation.
Provide clear and effective communication to users while addressing their technical concerns.
Maintain an up-to-date inventory of hardware and software assets.
Continuously enhance knowledge of IT roles, responsibilities, and best practices.
Work independently to investigate and resolve complex technical challenges.
Assist in creating and updating training materials and technical guides for end users.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support the IT team.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in computer technology or related field is preferred.
Minimum of two years of experience in IT support or a related role, or equivalent education and training.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Windows operating systems and Office productivity tools.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse users.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve technical problems independently.
Experience with ticketing systems for tracking and managing technical issues is required.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Knowledge of IT hardware, software, and troubleshooting techniques.
