The Lead Scrum Master is a key member of a development squad with a well-defined software development life cycle process. The Lead Scrum Master applies a broad technical knowledge of the Agile methodology to manage the scrum process with geographically dispersed teams to deliver exceptional standards in product quality and timely, predictable delivery of projects. The Lead Scrum Master oversees cross functional coordination and communication, requirements traceability, release management, test case management, and defect tracking concerns to keep delivery on track.

The Impact you will have in this role:

Primary Responsibilities:
- Agile Leadership
- Drive adoption and application of Agile principles, frameworks (e.g., Scrum), and practices to maximize squad success.
- Coach Product Owner (PO) and squad to maintain a healthy, prioritized backlog with refined user stories.
- Balance delivery timeframes with continuous iteration to incorporate customer feedback effectively.
- Participate in Scrum of Scrums sessions to align priorities, dependencies, and timelines across squads
- Strategic Product Ownership
- Partner with stakeholders to define product vision and roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Drive backlog prioritization and refinement to maximize value delivery.
- Act as a proxy Product Owner when needed, making decisions on scope and priorities to keep delivery on track.
- Coaching & Facilitation
- Provide role-based coaching (PO, QA, Dev, etc.) and proactively facilitate coaching sessions.
- Foster collaboration and create a safe environment for ceremonies to encourage active participation.
- Flexible to take on the role of both Scrum Master and Product Owner activities including but not limited to release planning
- Mediate conflicts within the squad and promote a culture of trust and transparency.
- Reporting & Communication
- Deliver accurate, transparent updates to stakeholders with concise metrics on progress, risks, and impediments.
- Release & Project Planning
- Support PO in release planning and coordinate code movement across environments (Development, Testing, UAT, Production).
- Manage project planning, goal setting, job schedules, resource coordination, and ensure delivery within budget and timeline.
- Mindset & Servant Leadership
- Build strong relationships within the squad and act as an enthusiastic change agent.
- Promote continuous learning, process improvements, and sustainable execution practices.
- Encourage experimentation and guide the squad toward self-sufficiency.
- Risk & Control Alignment
- Integrate risk and control processes into daily responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risks effectively.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6-8 years of related experience.
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.

- Agile Expertise: Deep understanding of Agile principles, frameworks (Scrum, etc.), and tools.
- Leadership & Influence: Strong servant leadership skills with experience in coaching, conflict resolution, and team empowerment.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to define product vision, prioritize backlog, and deliver business value.
- Project Management: Skilled in planning, scheduling, resource coordination, and delivery management.
- Technical Acumen: Familiarity with software development practices, CI/CD pipelines, and release management.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement and transparent reporting.
- Mindset: Adaptability, openness to change, and commitment to continuous improvement.
Additional Qualifications
- Proven experience in Scrum Master and Product Owner roles, ideally in complex, enterprise-level environments.
- Previous software development lifecycle experience.
- Scrum Master certification a plus.
- Product Owner certification a plus.
- Additional Agile certifications (e.g., SAFe, LeSS, or equivalent) highly desirable.
