Job Description
You will be the Geospatial Systems Engineer for the Missiles & Fire Control Geospatial Applications Team. Our team designs, builds, and delivers cutting edge geospatial software and workflows that empower customers to turn massive data sets into actionable insight, while expanding Lockheed Martin's commercial geospatial product portfolio.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Geospatial Systems Engineer you will be responsible for steering complex projects from concept through deployment, nurturing strong customer relationships, and shaping the technical roadmap for our next generation geospatial solutions. You'll work remotely but stay tightly integrated with cross functional engineers, data scientists, and product managers across multiple sites.
Your responsibilities will include:
Designing, developing, and testing scalable geospatial workflows that process large scale data on high performance computing (HPC) systems.
Integrating MFC software components across diverse teams and global locations to ensure seamless end to end solutions.
Translating customer requirements into detailed technical specifications and feature roadmaps.
Identifying emerging market opportunities and proposing new product concepts that drive business growth.
Providing post deployment support, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement for deployed applications.
Collaborating with product management, sales, and support teams to deliver compelling demos and technical briefings for customers.

Basic Qualifications
B.S. degree in Geography, Computer Science,
Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or related Geo-Science or Engineering field or equivalent experience
5+ years of geospatial experience
Experience running/developing workflows for
Lockheed Martin's Rosetta3D/OpenRosetta3D
Geospatial Processing Engine
Experience with deployment of Lockheed Martin's Rosetta 3D/OpenRosetta3D software.
Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems, including RHEL 8.
Experience with containerization using Docker, and orchestration using Kubernetes.
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
Familiarity with security best practices, including firewalls, access control, and encryption.
Knowledge of compliance frameworks, such as NIST, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS.
Experience with automation tools like Ansible, PowerShell, or Bash.
Familiarity with cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Desired skills
Extensive data production, formatting and
manipulation experience with Digital Elevation Models,
Satellite Imagery, Point Clouds and Derived Datasets
(Vector/Raster, PCs and 3D Meshs) used in large scale
Exposure to formats: ntf, tif, laz, heif,, copc, xml, cog,
shp, gpkg, json, jp2k, pbr, rpb
Geographic Image Mosaic Production
Experience with Geospatial software products: Global
Mapper, QGIS, ENVI, ERDAS, ESRI, etc.
Experience with Geospatial Libraries: GDAL/OGR,
GEOS, PROJ, numpy, fiona, shapely, pandas, etc
Linux Experience
Experience writing automation routines: python,
bash, powershell, etc.
Matlab Mapping Toolbox a plus.
Works effectively within a team with minimal
direction
