Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer to join our team and contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise-level applications running on IBM Mainframe systems. The ideal candidate should have strong technical expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and related mainframe technologies, along with a solid understanding of SDLC and modern integration practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, design, code, test, and implement mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS.

  • Perform enhancements, maintenance, and production support for existing mainframe applications.

  • Review business requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver scalable solutions.

  • Debug and resolve complex mainframe application issues and performance bottlenecks.

  • Develop and maintain batch and online processing jobs.

  • Integrate mainframe applications with external systems and APIs as needed.

  • Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and system integration testing.

  • Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and cross-functional IT teams.

  • Prepare technical documentation and adhere to established development standards and best practices.

Required Skills:

  • Strong hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and VSAM.

  • Experience with mainframe development tools such as Endevor, Changeman, File-Aid, and Abend-AID.

  • Proficiency in SQL and database concepts.

  • Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience in production support, job scheduling, and batch processing.

  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies is a plus.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in financial, insurance, or banking domains.

  • Exposure to API/Middleware integration or modernization projects.

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
