  1. Basic Job Function
    To act as a strong technical resource for our project execution team, with full responsibility for the design, specification, and selection of thermal equipment used on Air Cooled Steam Condensers for power plants.
  2. Required skills
    • Sound knowledge of process design, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and control & instrumentation. Experience with finite element flow modeling preferred.
    • Familiarity with design and selection of equipment such as heat exchangers, de-aerators, fans, pumps, vacuum pumps, steam ejectors, steam bypass control valves, or other similar equipment in the power or process industry.
    • Analytical mind to
    • a) develop/improve in-house design tools such as thermal selection program, noise calculation program, etc.
    • b) Validate supplier design tools such as fan selection software, de-aerator sizing software, etc.
    • Passion for product improvement combined with in-depth technical expertise.
  3. Education & Experience
    • BSc or Master's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
    • 5+ years of experience in a similar engineering role
  4. Essential functions and responsibilities
    • Verify thermal, process, and noise design complies with technical specifications.
    • Generate and review key engineering deliverables such as thermal performance curves, step control curves, wind correction curves, thermal datasheets and noise datasheets, process flow diagrams, design notes, functional description, and logic diagrams.
    • Perform hydraulic calculations for pipe and duct sizing and determine drain pot flows.
    • Produce equipment data sheets and technical specifications for inclusion in vendor enquiry packages.
    • Perform technical bid evaluation to decide on final vendor selection.
    • Review, approve, and control vendor-supplied engineering documents and drawings relating to equipment packages.
    • Coordinate timely replies to equipment engineering-related inquiries from clients/suppliers.
    • Produce thermal performance test procedures and reports, and provide technical support to the commissioning team.
    • Perform equipment inspections at vendor fabrication facilities.
