Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled System Analyst with strong analytical and problem-solving skills and some experience in data analysis to support various state agency initiatives. The ideal candidate will work closely with business users, technical teams, and stakeholders to analyze and improve system processes while also helping with data interpretation and reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and document business requirements, processes, and workflows.
- Act as a liaison between business users and IT teams.
- Assist in system design, testing, and implementation of software applications.
- Conduct gap analysis and suggest improvements for existing systems.
- Perform basic data analysis using Excel, SQL, or reporting tools.
- Support data gathering, validation, and visualization tasks.
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and data summaries for stakeholders.
- Collaborate with teams to ensure project goals and timelines are met.
Required Skills:
- 3+ years of experience as a System Analyst or similar role.
- Strong understanding of business process analysis and documentation.
- Experience with tools like MS Excel, SQL, Power BI, or similar.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with government or public sector clients preferred.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
Preferred:
- Prior experience with the State of Virginia or other government clients.
- Familiarity with Agile or SDLC methodologies.
- Basic understanding of data governance and reporting standards.
