Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking an experienced Cyber Software Engineering, SME to join an existing Streaming Analytics team. The Software Engineer will become a member of a mature software development effort using Java as the primary language. The development effort uses Agile methods to assign, track and manage development requirements and activities within the team. Telework is available on an ad hoc, "as tasking allows" basis according to what is in the current sprint. It is possible, but not guaranteed. Day to day duties may include:

Develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems
Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements
Debug existing software and designs and codes new software or modify existing software to add new features
Recommend new technologies and processes for complex software projects
Serve as the technical lead for multiple software development sub-teams within a sprint
Select the software development process in coordination with the customer and system engineering
Ensure quality control of all developed and modified software.
Apache Flink, Performance tuning/code optimization, Java, Kubernetes, Apache Pulsar
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications :

Active TS/SCI clearance with current polygraph required
Twenty (20) years of experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required
Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree
Preferred Qualifications :

Demonstrated work experience with analytics or analytic frameworks such as Apache Flink
Familiarity with containers and container orchestration systems such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Demonstrated work experience developing RESTful services
A minimum six (6) years demonstrated experience out of the most recent eight (8) years developing production software for Solaris or Linux environments
Six years (6) of experience developing software using the Java programming language or C or C++
