The Senior Engineering Program Manager will work with their Engineering counterparts to define and design solutions and services that delight caregivers and add value to the organization. The scope of this role is both broad (across a business unit) and deep (in terms of technical, process and continuous improvement required to develop and build enterprise wide IS services).

Their responsibilities span the life of the solution or service and include collaboration with Engineering and business stakeholders, engaging with caregivers, working with Engineering to define the solution or service, managing the release, establishing the solution/service's identity in the ecosystem, and connecting with and supporting the caregiver community. This role will work in a fast-paced environment, have constant demands for on time delivery, and will require understanding our customer needs, analysis and design, strong problem resolution, decision making, communication and partnering skills. Collaborating with the business, fellow IS organizations, and the project teams will be critical for success.

  • Solution and Service: Creates design options for feature areas. Finds new sources and methods to generate caregiver/partner insights. Defines problems and questions well and identifies needed data and missing research. Identifies possible approaches and attributes to make the solution distinct and appealing to the caregiver.
  • Solution and Service Design of feature area specifications: Creates, evolves, and communicates feature area specifications that form cohesive, Iterable plans that align to the multi-year vision. Applies experience as well as technical, functional, and caregiver/partner knowledge to define the feature area s role within the multi-year solution/service vision. Demonstrates a strategic understanding of the timing and rationale for design choices for a feature area.
  • Caregiver lifecycle: Drives the process to develop tools and materials that will be used by caregiver support, marketing, or sales to drive education and adoption. Drives the content development process, with stakeholders, to ensure alignment to overall content strategy and placement where, when, and how it is needed.
  • Engineering lifecycle: Uses an understanding of the engineering lifecycle and previous shipping experiences to advocate for improvements. Participates in design, code, and test planning and reviews, and shares best practices across the team. Identifies feature-level dependencies and establishes milestone release criteria to manage them.
  • Solution and Service ownership: Has a sense of pride and personal accountability for end-to-end quality, completeness, and resulting user experience for the life of the solution/service. Identifies unaddressed issues and resolves, escalates, or finds the appropriate owner to ensure the highest level of quality. Uses the solution/service regularly to understand it thoroughly and discover ways to improve it.
  • Program Management functions: Proactively manages client expectations for timelines and deliverables throughout the project/program lifecycle. Develops and gains sponsor approval for project delivery dates. Manage portfolio programs with low/medium complexity, strategic priority and/or visibility, system and/or regional priority. Engages and organizes the assignment of activities of multi-functional teams, as well as the project estimates, task dependencies and schedule. Scope, risk and issue management, including documenting, communicating and facilitating resolutions or mitigation plans. Responsible for program communications, including communications across internal and external teams and groups.
  • Leadership: Acts as a coach and mentor to less experienced team members.
