Network Architect Hybrid Cloud & AWS Networking
Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid 2 days onsite per week)
Contract: Long-Term
Eligibility Requirements
Must be local to the Austin, TX area and able to work onsite two days per week
Must be able to work on a W2 basis only (no C2C, 1099, or third-party vendors)
Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship or visa transfer
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Network Architect to lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable, and resilient network architectures supporting enterprise cloud transformation initiatives. This role focuses on hybrid networking strategies that integrate on-premises data center environments with AWS cloud services, ensuring high availability, security, and compliance.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in network architecture, cloud connectivity, security principles, and high-availability design, and can collaborate effectively across cloud, security, and infrastructure teams.
Key Responsibilities
Architect and implement hybrid and multi-cloud network connectivity integrating on-premises environments with AWS services.
Design secure, high-performance network architectures aligned with governance, compliance, and business continuity requirements.
Collaborate with cloud, security, and infrastructure teams to support migrations and optimize network operations.
Establish network architecture standards, governance, and best practices to support scalability and long-term growth.
Ensure routing, segmentation, and security policies align with enterprise architecture principles.
Design and support high availability and disaster recovery strategies for mission-critical workloads.
Minimum Qualifications
8+ years of experience in network architecture across AWS and on-premises environments.
8+ years of strong knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), network segmentation, and firewall technologies.
8+ years of hands-on experience with hybrid connectivity solutions (VPN, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway).
8+ years of experience applying network security principles, including encryption, identity, and compliance frameworks.
8+ years of experience designing high-availability, load balancing, and failover architectures.
8+ years of experience with network automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible, and CI/CD integration for infrastructure.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with multi-cloud networking (Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform).
Knowledge of Zero Trust architecture and advanced security models.
Experience with SD-WAN technologies and network observability tools (NetFlow, CloudWatch, Prometheus).
Understanding of cloud networking cost optimization strategies.
Relevant certifications such as AWS Advanced Networking Specialty, Cisco CCNP/CCIE, or Azure Network Engineer Associate.
