THE WORK:
    • You'll manage all aspects of the construction project budget and schedule, coordinating with public agencies, contractors, and the project team to ensure the project is completed according to plans, specifications, and cost limits.
    • You'll perform day-to-day contract administration including assistance to the Senior Project Manager, reviewing construction schedules, submittals, schedule of values, and responding to contractor inquiries.
    • You'll manage progress payments, RFIs, time and material tickets, and submittals to streamline monthly construction draw requests; maintain internal documentation, budget balance, and draw packages for OCTA review.
    • You'll implement design modifications by issuing change directives to contractors, processing change orders for owner approval, and ensuring contractor payments align with project progress.
    • you'll work on construction elements in the light rail industry including Passenger Light Rail, Maintenance Facility, Single and Double Crossovers, MSF, Traction Power Substations, Rail Stations, Overhead Contact System, Embedded Track, Direct Fixation Tracks, and Rail Bridges.
    • You'll perform cost-benefit analysis using quantity takeoffs and cost estimation to verify proposals and submittals, and draft and execute subcontracts based on validated proposals.
    • You'll assist with construction management of commercial, residential, and multi-purpose buildings, overseeing schedule, engineering standards, codes, and key structural elements like roofing, steel, concrete, framing, and skylight systems.
    • You'll coordinate with steel and framing contractors on foundation and framing work-including truss installation, combined footings, and advanced steel columns-while collaborating with city officials to secure permits, conduct inspections, and obtain licenses to ensure compliance with local regulations.
    • You'll lead bid analysis, pre-construction meetings, and award coordination activities; maintain a log of contractor RFIs, negotiate fair change order costs, review their project impact, and perform fiscal management of resources.
    • Onsite at client site: The work location for this role is onsite with our clients and partners to enable delivery and cultivate our client relationships.

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
    • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or closely related. Employer will accept advance degree if in the same field
    • 5+ years of experience as an Officer Engineer, Project Engineer and Assistant Project Manager, Trainee and Project Engineer, Assistant Engineer, or closely related
