Job Details

Our client, a leading professional services organization, needs an Avaya Onsite Technician for a 12-month contract with a chance of extension. They will be working onsite, to support local clients in the Pensacola, Florida area and should be comfortable traveling up to 75%. The field service technician will provide basic technical support for telecom systems, including their equipment and peripherals. The technician must be able to interface with project managers, engineers and customers to build and prepare systems for field deployments. They will be reviewing work orders, performing on-premises wireless surveys, assisting with software and firmware updates, utilizing network tracing tools to troubleshoot endpoints and completing general rack and stack tasks.

Required Skills:

  • 3-5+ years of field Avaya technician experience
  • Ability to rack and stack servers and gateways
  • Experience preparing client sites for onsite installations, upgrades by reviewing work orders, obtaining all necessary equipment and supplies, and evaluating the install location
  • Ability to perform on premise wireless surveys
  • Able to use network tracing technology to troubleshoot end point device issues
  • Ability to perform mainframe and IDF cross connects

  • CompTIA A+ and/or CompTIA Server+ Certificate
  • Any relevant telecom certifications
