Job Details
Job Title: Senior Data Engineer
Location: Newport Beach, CA (Onsite 4 days /Hybrid)
Duration: Long Term Contract
Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize data pipelines and workflows for enterprise-scale analytics and reporting. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Python, Snowflake, ETL frameworks, and Airflow orchestration, with a strong understanding of modern data platforms and cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and semi-structured data using Python and Airflow.
- Develop and maintain Snowflake-based data warehouses
- Integrate data from multiple sources (cloud storage, APIs, databases) into unified data models.
- Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting for pipeline health.
- Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable data solutions.
- Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and regulatory standards.
- Optimize workflows for high-volume, near real-time data processing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to data ingestion and transformation.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles.
- Strong proficiency in Python for data processing and automation.
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake (data modeling, performance tuning, security).
- Expertise in ETL/ELT design and orchestration using Apache Airflow.
- Solid understanding of SQL and query optimization.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) and storage services (S3, ADLS).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and DevOps practices.
- Knowledge of data governance, compliance frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Exposure to data lake architectures and streaming frameworks.
