In this role, you will support operational units across the Department of Defense (DoD), the United States Space Force (USSF), and U.S. Space Command (USSPACECOM), ensuring war fighters are fully prepared to operate space control systems in contested, degraded, and operationally limited (CDO) environments.

The Senior Training Specialist will incorporate real-world mission scenarios, emerging threats, and the latest tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) into both initial qualification and continuation of training. You will work closely with program offices, system developers, operational units, and training commands to ensure all training content is technically accurate, instructionally sound, and tactically relevant.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Training Specialist will:

  • Design, develop, and deliver training for space control systems and mission operations (e.g., offensive/defensive space control, SSA/SDA tools, electronic warfare systems)
  • Apply Instructional Systems Design (ISD) methodologies-such as the ADDIE model to create courses, lesson plans, and instructional materials
  • Conduct task analyses, training needs assessments, and job duty validations to support course development and updates
  • Facilitate instructor-led, virtual, and simulation-based training in both classified and unclassified environments
  • Integrate real-world operational data, emerging threats, and intelligence updates into training content
  • Support mission rehearsal exercises, operator evaluations, and proficiency check for space control personnel
  • Maintain and update training documentation, including lesson plans, student guides, assessments, and technical materials
  • Ensure all training products comply with DoD and U.S. Army standards, STANAGs, and applicable security requirements
  • Collaborate with system program offices, operational units, doctrine developers, and intelligence analysts to ensure training content is current, accurate, and tactically relevant
  • Participate in validation events, after-action reviews (AARs), and continuous improvement cycles
  • Instruct and brief military personnel across all ranks, including joint and coalition partners

Responsibilities

Skills & Experience

The Senior Training Specialist must have:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • 10+ years of experience in space operations, with at least 3 years in space control, electronic warfare, or satellite protection missions
  • Demonstrated experience designing and delivering training programs using ISD methodologies
  • Strong understanding of U.S. Army space control mission areas, tools, and operational environments (NIPR/SIPR/JWICS)
  • Familiarity with space system architectures, CONOPS, TTPs, and mission areas related to space defense, SSA/SDA, or electromagnetic operations
  • Experience with training simulation tools, operator interfaces, or mission systems for space control platforms
  • Proven ability to instruct, train, and brief personnel at all levels, including joint and coalition forces
  • Experience working in classified environments and handling sensitive operational data in compliance with security protocols
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create technical documentation, lesson plans, and training materials
  • Prior military or civilian instructor certifications
  • Experience supporting Space Delta 3, STARCOM, or USSPACECOM space control missions
  • Familiarity with joint doctrine (e.g., JP 3-14), Spacepower Doctrine, and adversary counter space threat assessments
