Job Summary:

We seek a dynamic and experienced Information Technology (IT) Manager to lead our technological initiatives and support the management of our Geographic Information Systems (GIS) team in the CNMI. The ideal candidate will oversee scheduling, customer coordination, and project management to ensure efficient operations and the successful delivery of GIS/IT solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Scheduling and Resource Management:
  • Develop and maintain IT project schedules, ensuring timely delivery of milestones.
  • Allocate and prioritize tasks among team members based on project needs and employee strengths.
  • Monitor workloads and adjust assignments to meet deadlines and quality standards.
  • Customer Coordination:
    • Serve as the primary liaison between the GIS department and internal/external stakeholders.
    • Understand customer needs and translate them into actionable technical solutions.
    • Address and resolve customer inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly.
  • Project Management:
    • Plan, execute, and deliver GIS/IT projects, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and timelines.
    • Track progress using project management tools and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
    • Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to address potential project challenges.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Supervise and mentor the IT team, fostering professional growth and development.
    • Conduct regular team meetings to review progress, discuss challenges, and celebrate achievements.
    • Promote a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • System and Process Optimization:
    • Evaluate current GIS/IT systems and processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
    • Implement best practices and standards to enhance efficiency and productivity.
    • Stay updated with emerging technologies and recommend upgrades where applicable.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of projects, schedules, and customer communications.
    • Prepare reports and presentations for leadership on IT activities, progress, and outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of direct experience.
  • Proven experience in management, scheduling, and project coordination.
  • Strong knowledge of CNMI department's operations and IT resources.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

ADA Notations:
  • Ability to travel to project sites in the CNMI, which may involve long-distance flights and extended periods away from home.
  • Capability to navigate varied terrain and work environments during on-site project visits.
  • Flexibility to adjust to different climates and working conditions in the CNMI, including exposure to outdoor elements.
  • Capacity to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 30 pounds during fieldwork and site assessments.
