Position Overview

The BI Architect (Power BI Cloud) is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-level Business Intelligence solutions on the Microsoft Power BI platform. This role focuses on cloud-based data modeling, architecture, governance, and analytics to ensure high-performance reporting and data insights across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

1. BI Architecture & Solution Design

Design end-to-end BI architectures using Power BI Cloud, Azure, and Microsoft Fabric.
Build scalable semantic data models (star schema, snowflake, data vault).
Define dataflows, datasets, and workspace architecture based on enterprise standards.
Architect effective data refresh strategies, incremental refresh, and data partitions.

2. Power BI Development

Develop advanced Power BI reports, dashboards, and paginated reports.
Create complex DAX measures, calculated columns, and reusable templates.
Implement row-level security (RLS), object-level security, and data governance controls.
Optimize performance for large datasets using best practices.

3. Cloud Integration & Data Engineering

Integrate Power BI with Azure services (Azure SQL DB, Synapse, Data Lake, Data Factory, Fabric Lakehouse).
Work with ETL/ELT processes and ensure clean, trusted data pipelines.
Coordinate with data engineers to design source-to-presentation data flows.
