THE ROLE:
We are seeking a Lab Support Engineer to manage and maintain RACK servers integrated with FPGA-based boards. This role involves hands-on work with hardware, cabling, and diagnostic tools in a lab environment. The ideal candidate will have strong Linux expertise, experience with FPGA platforms, and proficiency in diagnostic and troubleshooting software.

This individual is responsible for managing the Development Data Center, overseeing both hardware and software installation and maintenance. They have a strong passion for working as a lab administrator or in a similar role

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lab Management & Setup
- Organize and maintain lab infrastructure for servers and FPGA-based boards.
- Manage cabling, power connections, and network configurations for test setups.
- Ensure proper inventory and documentation of hardware components.
System Configuration & Testing
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems on lab servers.
- Deploy and update FPGA firmware and related diagnostic tools.
- Perform system health checks and preventive maintenance.
- Run diagnostic software to validate hardware functionality.
- Identify and resolve hardware/software issues in collaboration with design and validation teams.
- Support bring-up and validation of FPGA-based accelerator boards.
Hardware Debug & PCB Skills
- Understanding of PCB design, schematics, and layout, including ESD principles.
- Perform basic PCB bring-up and debug.
- Use lab tools such as oscilloscope, multimeter, and power supplies for troubleshooting.
- Debug PC and server hardware issues effectively.
- Build complete computer systems from scratch and resolve hardware problems.
- Knowledge of computer peripheral hardware and cabling installation.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Strong knowledge of Linux OS (installation, configuration, scripting).
- Hands-on experience with FPGA-based boards and related toolchains.
- Familiarity with diagnostic and debug software for hardware validation.
- Understanding of networking and cabling for server setups.
- PCB design fundamentals and lab debugging experience.
- Experience with lab support or hardware validation role.
- Experience with OCP server platforms or similar data center hardware.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in computer engineering/Electrical Engineering
